Welcome Aboard
True abiding
happiness cannot exist
while others suffer,
and comes only from serving others, living in
harmony with nature, and realizing our innate wisdom and
the true and brilliant nature of our own minds.
Travel Freak is set for
another cross country run. This time it’s the happiest country in the world,
yes it is Bhutan. I have booked tickets,
made schedule done some ground work on entry permits, border rules and gathered
enough information to set a new landmark in the Kingdom of Bhutan.
Bhutan ittu sa dikhta hai world map par, but has given a very powerful message to the world,
the message of Happiness-GNH (Gross National Happiness). It has taught that
amassing material wealth does not necessarily lead to happiness. According to fourth
Druk Gyalpo that for Bhutan “Gross National Happiness,” is more important than
“Gross National Product.”
There are four main
pillars of Gross National Happiness:
1.
Equitable and equal socio-economic development
2.
Preservation and promotion of cultural and spiritual heritage
3.
Conservation of environment and
4.
Good governance which are interwoven, complementary, and consistent.
These pillars embody
national and local values, aesthetics, and spiritual traditions. The concept of
Gross National Happiness is now being taken up the United Nations and by
various other countries.
It will take 3 days-2700kms for me to cross complete
India and reach Bhutan, it’s South to East travel. I hope it will be good. I am
going to attend a 2 day International Conference and then 2 more to explore
happiness of Bhutan, I know it’s too less to feel the beauty, but its fate. Eager
to see whats in the menu for me in Bhutan.
