Adventure Zone

Dear Friends….....Welcome to Adventure Zone.

It’s a place where you can face your fears, an area where you can easily jump from 50 feet as if you are having shake.

I visited there with my colleagues since it was a team party. We hired a cab, assembled team and started our journey from office. After some time we celebrated birthday of my Tl and a colleague. It’s our team tradition is to celebrate birthdays of everyone falling in the same month on a single day. Then we had to have some fun, so we started dancing starting from TL to everyone, one by one, all were dragged to the dance floor. TL started break dance, saying he knows only that. It seemed to me as if he wanted to be in lime light. As no one had perfect idea, where this place was, so we called owner of that place and after few moves here and there, we finally reached Adventure Zone. It was a big place owned and maintained by a retired Major. He himself architecture that space and created many adventure games like rappling, climbing, shooting etc. He gave us a contract which stated that whatever happens to us, we take sole responsibility of that and no one else. We filled it without fear, since at this time many of us didn’t knew what we were going to do.

Now major started explaining about the games first was climbing. Climbing was safe but tough. The task was to climb a 40 foot high wall using few stones on it. This game really requires stamina as you have to be continuously going up, searching stones and pushing your body up. I don’t want to be ‘muh miya mitthu’ but I was the first person who tried this game and I was the only one who completed it-somehow. Although I hurt myself a little bit, but enjoyed. There was a time when I felt like I will fall, but there were safety ropes which saved me.

Another adventure was Rappling, it’s a simple task but courageous one. You have to go up, using stairs and come down using ropes. Now here people were afraid as they have to jump from a 50 feet high building with the help of ropes. All of us know that the ultimate truth is death; still we were afraid of dying. And in this task, we had to overcome our fears-fear of dying, and then only one can come down. There are two types of rappling-backward and forward. In backward we look upwards towards the sky, so it becomes easy to jump. Most people tried this easily including me. Obviously, I had lesser fear than most in our team. Let us move to most interesting game-forward rappling, in this task we have to look ground from 50 feet high building and jump, now this is really scary. At this time, only one thing comes to your mind-Fear and most people wants to return without jumping. As I am always eager to face my fears, I ran to major and said, “I want to try forward jump”, he looked towards me and said “no one tries forward, till he has not completed three backwards”. This is because after doing 3 backwards we become habitual of it. I said “ok, I’ll come after my 3rd backward”. When I again saw him, he said “are you sure you’ll not return through stairs (because many people went upstairs to try forward rappling, but came back without completing it)”. They tried, but once we are at the verge of jumping and look down, our mind gets trapped by fear. At this point, our body is controlled by emotions not by mind, even if mind says that there is 200% guarantee nothing is gonna happen, then too, we are afraid. I was not afraid as rest of the colleagues, I said to major, “I am sure that I am not gonna come back through stairs”. When I was waiting for my turn, I had little fear watching others getting little hurt and stepping down through stairs, but I had confident that I can do it.

Finally it was my turn to face my fear, everything was cool and steady till I saw ground, for a sec a thought came in my mind to back off and at the same time, my leg slipped, I thought that I am gone, but I was alive and then I made my mind that this is the only way to get down and I am doing it. I jumped and came down through rope only. It was awesome moment; I thought whatever I have been through has given me the courage to come down from that building. Now I have no fear my dear.

After this we played for an hour in swimming pool. Once completing all this, they dropped me to complete my shift, so I was awake for complete 24 hours, 12 hours in adventure zone and rest in office. Well this might not be a big deal for many people but believe me after doing physical rigorous exercise; it is very difficult to sit in front of a dumb screen.

Now I am habitual to that also, since my days have become upside down, I work and eat according to US. I work in night-eat pizza and sleep in morning, as if I am a US Dog . Even my client has mascot-a dog.
I think this is enough for this adventure, stay tuned for next…
